Robert Browning was a British poet. Born on May 7, 1812, Browning wrote his first major work,"Pauline: a fragment of a confession" at the age of twenty. He married Elizabeth Barrett in 1826 and with her encouragement went on to become one of the major Victorian poets. Warfield, the son of William Warfield and Mary Cabell Breckinridge Warfield, was a graduate of Princeton University. He also attended Oxford University and received a degree from Columbia Law School in 1885. Warfield practiced law for three years before becoming the president of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1888.
